SQL Developer / Analyst

As an SQL Developer / Data Analyst, you will be handling projects related to querying, reporting and analysis as well as database monitoring, performance-tuning and maintenance for the Analytics & Technology departments. The SQL Developer Analyst will have the opportunity to develop a variety of reports, charts, models, & analysis that have a direct impact on all aspects of Net Pay Advance, Inc.

• Reports to Director of Analytics

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ANALYST (90%)
 

• Develop SQL queries, generating automated daily/weekly reports, creating relevant KPIs & Metrics
• Integrate data from multiple data sets from the database to streamline information
• Proactively gather, analyze, & Interpret data from submitted requests for reports
• Work with other departments to help design reports to show statistics, KPIs, & other information as requested
• Must be able to properly handle confidential information
• Ensure data credibility of all results that are presented regardless of the format in which the data is represented by correctly understanding both the data & business requirements behind the requests
• Perform research & ad-hoc data queries as needed
• Create visualizations, charts, tables, & other report part objects for use by non-technical users in self-service reporting tools
• Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day delivery of projects & initiatives
• Find, clean & integrate data into usable & helpful information
• Identifies & utilizes data analysis & measurements effectively to identify performance trends, shortfalls
• Become the content expert & go-to reference regarding the database
• Formulating procedural manuals for scheduled reports and processes created

SQL DEVELOPER (10%)
 

• Contribute to the effective data governance of business data including data quality, data management, & risk management surrounding the handling of data
• Monitor performance, integrity & security of SQL instances & provide ongoing maintenance of all key SQL instances & servers
• Suggest & implement new systems & system improvements
• Analyze & improve existing queries

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 

• 2 years’ experience analyzing financial & business data.
• Must have an analytical mind with a proven ability to analyze, model & interpret data.
• Must be a good communicator, including the ability to provide analysis with a level of complexity appropriate for different audiences.
• Must be able to work with software developers, data scientists & non-technical staff.
• Preference given to those with experience in accounting, Finance, or lending.
• Preference given to those with advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills such as server & query performance tuning, access controls, updating, log shipping, etc.
• Work in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to organize, read, analyze, & interpret documents, reports, & other output.

 

SALARY
 

• $45,000 - $50,000 D.O.Q.
