Collections Administrative Support

As a Collections Administrative Support, you will be required to provide administrative and functional support to the collections department by carrying out various tasks assigned by the Collections Manager.

 

OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER
 

  • Reports to Collections Manager

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Handle all communications for Customer Fraud Claims, Bankruptcies and Credit Counselors (voicemails, faxes, emails, texts)
  • Process incoming mail for the department; Scan, attach and update accounts as needed
  • Follow up and Investigate bankruptcies and correspond with legal representation
  • Correspond, negotiate and follow up with debt consolidators and attorneys
  • Follow up with Customers to request proper documentation on Fraud Claims
  • Process first day delinquency collection letters
  • Audit advocate payments to ensure validity
  • Review and grade advocate calls and communications
  • Maintain list of bankable banks; finding new banks to bank on; verifying banking is completed daily
  • Create and maintain a messaging playbook with email and SMS templates to send to customers.
  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by the collections manager
  • Keep projects on schedule
  • Maintain adherence with all department and company policies and procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable with tasks and assignments
  • Efficient at compiling and typing statistical reports and charts
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Ability to negotiate settlements and agreements
  • Sort, check, count and verify numbers; perform basic mathematical calculations (incl. percentages & statistics)
  • Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to problem solve and determine best course of action
  • Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-Motivated

 

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
 

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respond to customer issues clearly and effectively by phone, fax, or email.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) abilities are a plus but are not a requirement.
